A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius
2 journalers for this copy...
Heartbreaking it certainly is, but not a work of staggering genius. I just wanted to take a red pen to it and cut it down by about a third. Anyone who says exactly the same thing but using different words three times in one paragraph is going to annoy me! Which is a pity cos there is some beautiful writing in here and the story of two brothers who lose both parents so quickly is, well, heartbreaking. He also captures the zeitgeist pretty well too, but then Douglas Coupland does that so much better.....

I found this book recently when going through some of my late husband's books to pass on to his nephew. He must have brought it from Scotland when we moved here in 2007.
