Book Description
The first novel in Stephen King's unique, bestselling epic fantasy quest - fully revised and expanded, and relaunched in B format with a new series look.

Synopsis
A fantasy tale describing the quest of the gunslinger, a man in tattered black, who passes back and forth through a door leading to two parallel worlds, and of those people under intense psychological pressure in the late 20th-century civilization who alone have the power to join him in the quest.

I bought The Dark Tower as a box set containing the first 4 volumes. The Gunslinger is the first one. I liked the new introduction by Stephen King to this revised version - he is always fun to read. Although this first book did not exactly swipe me off my feet. I am hopeful that we will pick up some pace in the next one. Imagine Clint Eastwood as the Pale Rider crossing an apocalyptic landscape, tracking a shadowy and evil figure, on an ultimately (so far) unknown quest.

Book #30 in 2005, this edition published in 2003 (first published in 1982), 304 pages (Total for this year 12,163 pages).
