Recieved today. Thanks very much!

Journal Entry 6 by elhamisabel from Frankfurt am Main, Hessen Germany on Thursday, September 15, 2005
I love this book. I haven't finished yet but I'm going to post my favourite bits here so I can laugh at them until I buy my own copy. :-)

"I was in a hurry because packing is something you always do at the last minute. Anyone who packs two days before departure should seek counselling. Balanced people are still shoving stuff into their bag as they are leaving the house. That's normal."

LOL! That's *so not* me!!! LOL!

-------

"It was another sunny day, with a few clouds around, but threatening to turn into something like scorcher. But I still couldn't understand why I was feeling so hot. Then I discovered the reason
'Gary, do you know that the heater is full on?'
'Yeah, I can't work out how to turn the thing off'
[...]
I changed the subject and said something which confirmed, beyond all doubt, my country of origin.
'Is it hot, or is it me?'
'Course it's feckin' hot, the heater's on full, you tosser.'
[...]
'Sorry about the car,' Antoinette had said, 'it's a bit of a disaster area. The only thing which really works properly on it is the heater.'
Well, that was a relief."

------

Tony: (Shouting at a girl) Would you like to dance?
Girl: (Shouting back) What?
Tony: (Shouting louder) Would you like to dance?
Girl: (Shouting) Yes I have, but just on a school trip to Calais.
Tony: (Shouting a bit louder still, directly into the girls ear): Not, have you been to France? - Would you like to dance?
Girl: (Shouting) Yes please, I'll have a large gin and tonic.
Tony: (Under his breath) Greedy cow
Girl: I heard that.

This was such a great book!

I'm going to hand it out to Sunneschii. She'll take it to flying-bat. Only she doesn't know yet. ;-))

Journal Entry 8 by Sunneschii from Zürich, Zürich Switzerland on Sunday, September 18, 2005
flying-bat knows...but I'm not going to pass this book without reading it, no way!

So.. I'll give this book to flying-bat after I'm done with it!;-))

(I hope it's ok, humptydumpty!:-))

Journal Entry 9 by Sunneschii from Zürich, Zürich Switzerland on Thursday, September 22, 2005
How funny! I just read elhams JE! And when I read this sentence: "I was in a hurry because packing is something you always do at the last minute. Anyone who packs two days before departure should seek counselling. Balanced people are still shoving stuff into their bag as they are leaving the house. That's normal." I thought: "Oh, that's so not elham!:-)))"

I liked the book, but it's not the best or the funniest I've ever read. It was nice, full-stop.

"Life is a mystery to be lived, not a problem to be solved"

I'll now figure out when I can give it to flying-bat :-))

RELEASE NOTES:

I'll put it in flying-bats mailbox today :-)

(If I figure out how a fridge fits into a mailbox...;-))

Journal Entry 11 by flying-bat from Baden, Aargau Switzerland on Wednesday, September 28, 2005
That "fridge" seemed to have fit perfectly into my mailbox. Thanks so much sunneschii and elhamisabel. These funny extracts of the book also really make me want to read it - real teasers!Unfortunatelly I can not start reading right away, but it's in top position of my Mt. TBR! I am still reading "Der Schwarm" at the moment which I should give back ASAP... however, I am already looking forward to the "fridge". :-)

Very good entertainment! What a foolish idea! :-)

I loved the doghouse bit the best though!...(Do I have a dirty mind?);-)

Well, the book is now wrapped and ready to be posted to bgy. (which will be done very soon!)

[I mailed it on 21st of October]

Journal Entry 14 by bgy from not specified, not specified not specified on Monday, December 5, 2005

Journal Entry 17 by eatsletters on Tuesday, June 20, 2006
what an absolutely cool book!!!!!

Long live crazy ideas and the people that actually do them.

Am seriously thinking about going to Ireland for a holiday.

Thanks for this bookring. My brother told me about this book years ago and I've been dying to read it.

Journal Entry 18 by seacloud49 from Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg Germany on Sunday, July 9, 2006

Journal Entry 19 by seacloud49 from Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg Germany on Saturday, August 19, 2006
Ein superlustiges Buch!! Ein Hoch auf total alberne Ideen! :-D

Journal Entry 20 by seacloud49 from Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg Germany on Thursday, August 31, 2006
Gute Reise, Fridge Man! ;-)

Journal Entry 21 by Agrippine314 from Ergolding, Bayern Germany on Sunday, September 17, 2006
The book arrived at my office during my holiday and waited patiently for me to pick it up today. Now it will have to wait a little more until I finish the book I am currently reading.

Thanks for sending and lending!

---

I enjoyed this book a lot. In the middle it got a bit boring, but towards the end it picked up again!

In fact I finished reading it in November, and gave it to my friend ... who enjoyed it a lot too, but never finished it ... so I will take it away from him now and will send it on to the next reader.

I am very sorry about the delay!

RELEASE NOTES:

Finally the book is on its road again (without a Fridge).

Sorry again for the huge delay!

The book arrived here safely (luckily, the Packstation worked again yesterday :-)). There are one and a half other books to be read before this one, I don't know yet how long it will take...

Edit: As humptydumpty pointed out that there are readers on the list again, I started reading, however, I am quite slow with English books right now...

Journal Entry 26 by DA-Cameron from Ditzingen, Baden-Württemberg Germany on Wednesday, November 21, 2007
Das Buch lag heute im Briefkasten. Danke für's Vorbeibringen! :-)

15. 1. 2008:
I enjoyed this book very much. At times, I was in doubt whether some remark or other was a true compliement or merely sarcastic, but hat did not lessen my fun.
The surfing fridge - ROFL! What a pity that scuba-diving was cancelled... :-D And Mother Superior blessing the fridge...

The book made me think of travelling to Ireland again...

RELEASE NOTES:

The fridge is on the road again. :-)

I am nearly throiugh with this book, and as I read most of it in a bus on my way to work, it was hard not to laugh out loud at some points. This is a really good one!
