I got this book at an internet cafe in St. Charles, MO, while visiting the St. Louis area. I took a look at the bookshelf that had been set up there and picked this one up, because it looked interesting.
I enjoyed the book, and plan to look for the rest of the series. I'd rate it as Young Adult for content, the strength and type of emotions being a bit strong for small children, in my opinion. I liked the author's concept of the use of geomancy, and I think it's fairly safe to say that they have read the Pern series. My only real complaint is that the author tended to repeat the same words, or even the same descriptions. I think they could use a good thesaurus.
In any case, I put it at a laundromat not too far from the cafe, where I actually found *another* stash of books, labeled for bookcrossing. When I get back home, I plan to start registering my books... and maybe releasing them, if I can find some I don't mind parting with. ;)
