His heart could be captured--but his passion could never be tamed....

From the acclaimed author of Prince of Shadows and Body and Soul comes the first novel in a powerful new trilogy, the story of a noble clan whose elegance belies a savage secret--and a man who will stop at nothing to preserve his family's dynasty forevermore...

Braden Forster, Earl of Greyburn, has devoted his life to restoring the purity of his clan's werewolf blood. He spent years searching in vain for a distant American cousin, a woman whose pure wolf bloodline is a vital link in his family's heritage. Braden had thought Cassidy Holt was lost forever--until she appeared one rainy night on the steps of his London mansion...her raven hair in disarray, her skin scented with sunlight and sagebrush. As Braden whisks young Cassidy to his family's secluded country estate, both can sense their undeniable attraction. But Cassidy soon learns that they can never satisfy their mutual passion; Braden has already betrothed her to another. Her only hope of claiming the one man she'll always love is to unravel the dark and lustful secrets of his past...

Touch of the Wolf is the first in a new trilogy of romantic fantasy novels featuring the aristocratic members of the Forster family, English werewolves who are the ancestors of characters in the bestselling novels Prince of Wolves and Prince of Shadows.

Wow, just wow. This book completely exceeded my expectations! It was a real pain to stop reading, as I didn't want to leave the world of Krinard's werewolves, but the book was way too long to read in one sitting. I'm a huge fan of Krinard now!

This historical romance is a wonderful plot-driven tale. I like my romances like this - with a story so capturing that I forget I'm actually reading a romance. I loved the poetry - both in the actual poems and also in the way the author made the surroundings come alive with her words.

I can't wait to read Rowena's story in Once a Wolf and Quentin's story in Secret of the Wolf. Cassidy's brother's tale is told in To Catch a Wolf.

I haven't been reading much lately and none of the books I have read really caught my interest so I thought I was going through a phase....well.... It was definitely just a bad run of books for me. This one was great, I hardly wanted to put it down. Thanks so much for letting me join in this bookring.

I will be sending it off to Cherie sometime this week, she has already confirmed that she wants to read it.

Edit Sept 14: sent by surface mail on Sept 10

Got it. Though Joanne told me this was really romance-y, I thought I'd like to give at least this first book in the series a try. So it's here safe with me, though it'll probably be a couple months before I get to it. I hope that's okay. :)

I'm sorry for having this so long. I've decided to pass it along to Marge unread. I have so many books here still to read that I owe to others, and so many great urban fantasies I'd like to get read too, and my PC collection have been getting totally ignored as well. And since I'm moving in the next 6 months, I'm trying to clear out everything I don't think I'm ever going to read, or at least what I'm not sure I will enjoy. And yup a lot of the books with a lot of romance in them have been getting the axe. I do have the books of Susan Krinard's urban fantasy series here on Mt. TBR somewhere though so I do still plan to try those when I find time.

Also, I still have one of your other ring books here Candy, the Nora Roberts one Dance Upon the Air, that I'd still like to (try to) read. I know it's probably pretty romance-y as well but since it's the start of the witch trilogy which takes place off the coast of Massachusetts where I live, I wanted to at least give that one a whirl when I had the chance. And since that goes home to you after so I figured it wasn't so much of a rush. (Or at least I hope that's the case. Let me know if it's not and you want it back by a certain date.)

I was also still planning to try the Ronda Thompson Wild Wulfs of London one if you decide to still send that out as a ring because I totally loved Confessions of a Werewolf Supermodel, which was the last book she wrote before she died.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity in any case, no matter how terribly bad I was! :P This will be headed off to Marge just as soon as I get confirmation from her that she still wants to read it, along with the Hex DVDs.

Okay, well MaplesFlowers has since acquired a copy of this elsewhere and Cathepsut no longer wants to read it. I'm sorry I had it so long that everyone changed their mind in the 6 months time I had it. :(

So I'll hold this to go home to Candy, and send it home along with Dance Upon the Air once I read that one. Candy, in the meantime, if you decide to add anyone else to the end of the ring, or want me to send this elsewhere, just give me a heads up. Otherwise, I'll hold it to return to you with the Nora Roberts one. (Because that one I did want to try to read.) :)

Mailed home to CandyDarling on 7/17/09 via USPS International First Class. I decided to forgo this series in favor of some others simply because I have been so overwhelmed with books, on top of all the craziness surrounding my relocation to the other side of the country. :)

Touch of the Wolf is back home, thank you CheriePie! I'll try to find a new reader for it.
