Forrest Gump is back. Alittle older and wiser in his own unique way, he is still running through the kaleidoscopic events of our times - and straight into the age of greed and instant gratification known as the 1980s.

I don't think I can stand to read this one. I'd always have Tom Hanks in my head & I don't want him there.

Picked up from the table at the NZBC Convention welcome. I haven't read the first Forrest Gump book (though I saw the film), but thought this one might be interesting to read anyway.

An ok quick read. I enjoyed it more than I did the Forrest Gump movie (mainly because it didn't have so many irritating catch-phrases), but I was getting a bit bored by the end with the whole "lets see how many memorable events of the 1980s we can get him into" thing. But there's enough funny bits to keep you reading, and it doesn't drag on too long. I did like the part about him meeting Tom Hanks and discussing making a movie of his life... (I suppose that's technically a spoiler, but it's pretty much given away on the blurb on the back, so I won't bother hiding it).

Left in the cafe after tonight's meetup. One of the staff members said she was going to put the books on a shelf in the bar - could this be a proto-OCZ?
