So sorry for not journalling this earlier - I''ve had it a while, but haven''t had a chance to get near a computer!! Thanks so much for sending this to me - I can''t wait to read it.

Well, I gave this a couple of goes and still couldn't make it to the part where her head starts spinning. Like you, I don't like to give-up on a book, but then again, life's too short. I found the style annoying and childish, loads of irrevalent trivia, especially about the Mum, that was just downright boring. There's setting a scene and running away with description...

I'll pass this on again soon - hope there is someone out there who appreciates it.

Well I watched the movie on All Hallow's Eve when they re-released it and it didn't manage to scare me or my mates (which was actually the point of going!) so when I saw it in the bookbox I figured I'd give the book a chance as I generally find books can be scarier than than the screen.

Wow, can't believe it took me 2 years to get round to reading this (though I suppose I should as my TBR pile is actually a 6 x 3ft bookshelf & the books are at least 3 deep!).

I wish I could say it was worth the wait, but it really wasn't. I did finish it but it was definitely one of those books that left me kinda "meh" - certainly not a book where you're particularly invested in the characters or the outcomes for them. In fact, the one character who actually drew me in was a total 'bit-part' who doesn't appear to have any great relevance to anything going on in the story at all!

Sadly for me the book is just as disappointingly unscary as the film. Going on my AVL list until I find somewhere suitable to release it
