It's very sweet of you to send this early, Trivia! I will add it to Mt TBR and return it when I've done.

I'm afraid I found it gradually harder and harder to keep reading this book, although I had high hopes for it. Although it's much more readable than your average textbook, it was a bit drier than I expected, and my grounding in Tudor history isn't good enough for me to keep track of all the characters, so I found myself re-reading the same bits over and over to make sense of them. I've really enjoyed the historical novels I've read set in the same period, and I hoped to fill in the background a bit from this book, but it just didn't quite grab me. Sorry!
