Probably the most over-the-top awesome mecha anime ever. The first volume of the manga came in the DVD boxset.

The manga is fun, but doesn't really add much to the anime. I do like how it managed to introduce the Black Siblings and incorporate their appearance into the story without the poorly-thought-out events of episode 4 of the anime (seriously, eating Boota's butt? Who thought of that?) That episode just didn't fit in the original, even though it introduced important characters, so that fix was an improvement. Still, it seems the atmosphere of the series comes over better in full color. Kamina's bravado still shows, and the first look at the surface is still pretty epic.

BELIEVE IN ME, WHO BELIEVES IN YOU!
