A Charmed Place
1 journaler for this copy...
I picked this up at the Champaign County Humane Society Garage sale (held every Memorial Day weekend). Grabbed a wide variety of genres, many of which I am not personally intersted in reading
(others I haven't the time). I'm releasing around town to spread reading & encourage people to join bookcrossing.
A bookcrossing group is forming in Champaign-Urbana. Interested? Intriqued? Want some free pop & cookies? See Chambana Bookcrossers for information on us & our next meeting.

These are confusing journal entries. Not the first one--that's almost certainly where and when I got it. The release is surprising, given it's still on my bookshelf! I don't know if I marked the wrong book released or if I found it still there a couple weeks later and brought it back home.
Either way, I have it and it kept looking just interesting enough I put it back on the shelf whenever I went to release it. I decided I was tired of this so I finally read it.
It was not a bad bit of fluff, but I really didn't need to store it for over a decade. There was a bit too much stuff going on in it-the medical diagnosis at the end seemed merely convenient--the author had written herself into a corner and that was a way out, but I found it a bit over the top on top of everything else.
Maddie's ex-husband was creepy (intentional, but successful). The characters were all good. I just found the story had too much in it to get pulled into any of it.
