I saw this book on a sale table and bought it purely on impulse. I have not read any reviews so I have no expectations either way.

This is a very strange book. It is a collection of fragments without any narrative thread as far as I can tell. Not sure I would have labeled it a novel. It has several interesting stories and insights but it just wasn't enough to hold my attention for the whole book. I stopped about half-way through. I skimmed through the rest, and read the last few chapters, but I don't really want to give this book a rating since I didn't read the whole thing.

I went to one of the Coffee People's in Beaverton with my boyfriend last night. I noticed a book sitting on the coffee table that said it was "not lost but free." I thought the idea was brilliant! The book, however, didn't really appeal to me and I wondered how I would ever get through it and pass it on with my busy schedule. I soon moved to a different location in the coffee shop, however, and found 3 more book crossing books. I immediately spotted Soul Mountain and knew that it was the book that I would take with me. I am almost done with the book that I am currently reading so I will be able to begin Soul Mountain soon and then set it free....
