Een proefschrift uit 1995. De auteur, promovendus in de rechten ('lieber ein Universaldilettant als ein Fachidiot') geeft om te beginnen een behoorlijk heldere uitleg van chaostheorie voor niet-beta's, met mooie plaatjes van fractals en sneeuwkristallen. Het hoofdonderwerp van het proefschrift is echter de wetgeving gelijke behandeling voor mannen en vrouwen, allochtonen en autochtonen. Dat vind ik op zich ook een interessant onderwerp. Alleen waarom juist de chaostheorie hiervoor het goede kader biedt en hoe die chaostheorie dan precies toegepast wordt, werd me toch niet helemaal duidelijk. Misschien meer iets voor een echte jurist.
Ik zal dit boek binnenkort loslaten op een plek waar veel juristen te vinden zijn.

I found the book in the cafetaria of the university of Groningen, arts department. I think it's a beautifull idea to let books go 'out in the wild', to be found by curious people like me. When I picked up the book and realized that it had been put there to be found, I felt really moved, and I felt responsible for the book to pass on to other places.
I didn't really read the book to be honest. It's not my subject (I study Dutch literature) and I knew right away it had to go to my best friend, a student at the Rietveld academy of arts in Amsterdam, who is always very interested in found objects like this. I was visiting her the same afternoon, and I placed the book on her desk. I hope she will have the same sensation as I had when I first opened the book!
And by the way: although I didn't had much chance to read the book, I thought it had a fascinating title, and it made me curious. I hope my friend will read it a bit more and tell me about it!
