Picked up from ghir at the August TOC gathering and forgot to journal. Thanks for passing this on. So far it is quite nasty!!! :D
I do believe it is time for me to take a Palahniuk break. I have read several over the past year and I think they are starting to blend together. They seem much more fresh and original when spaced apart. As it is, this one reminds me too much of others for me to really get into it. If I didn't know any better, I would say this narrator is the same as the one from several of his other books. Oh, and I figured out a couple of the plot twists *way* early.
I did like it alright though. Learned some, um, interesting things.

Like trying to not watch a train wreck. Victor is not a lovable character. He's disgusting & has bad habits that are downright nauseating. Problem is, once you start reading it's just so hard to stop.

Sorry, I actually received this book right before Xmas, but with all the chaos of the holidays, I didn't have a chance to journal it until now. Thank you, I will read it soon.
WHY? Why do I do this to myself? This is the fourth book of his that I was going to read. At least I got through the first three...struggling to figure out what everyone likes about this guy. This book, I made it to page 10 before I told myself that I wasn't putting myself through this again. This person writes drivel and gets paid for it? You can have him, I am done.
