Left for Dead: My Journey Home from Everest

After reading other books about the May 1996 tragedy on Mount Everest I became interested knowing more about Beck, the man who was declared dead, but then miraceously escaped the maountain. The first part of this book tells the story from his own perspective, but is very sketchy. Two thirds of the book is about his life in general; his childhood, home life and problems with his marriage. This was not of great interest to me and became a bit tedious, although the chapter about his brother in law and the epilogue were better.
