The story of Iris and her sister Laura, told 50 years after Laura died in a car accident 4 days after the end of WWII. The story unfolds through a mixture of Iris's story, newspaper articles and excepts from Laura's novel, 'The Blind Assassin'.
I initially thought this would be difficult to get into, due to the jumps between the different stories, but was surprisingly easy once I'd read the first few pages. Despite being over 600 pages long, I felt that the story moved along quickly. I'd recommend this.
Being passed onto my mum...

Thanks Miss-R for giving me possibility to read it without rush. But, unfortunately this wasn´t a novel for me. I tried twice to read it, but just couldn´t get into it.

Today the book started its journey to Elsita in Portugal. Hope you enjoy it :)

At first I was really thinking I was going to find a blind assassin between its pages... ;)
Then, Laura and Iris stories caught me till the end!

I'll pass it to bugandbean as soon as I get the adress.

Well, I made it to page 83, and just couldn't go any farther. The writing was good, but the story line involved so many people that I was confused by page 40, and didn't care by page 80. I'm sure it's a good book - I just don't have the patience for it right now, with so many others calling my name. I'm sending it to Gwendy as part of a wishlist relay.
