Something is amiss at Maus Haus. Not just the mystery of an unsolved "suicide" which hangs over the old mansion, but something ominous in the present-day residence. When Qwilleran moves in to work on his new gastronomical assignment, strange things begin to happen. First it's a scream in the night, then a vanishing houseboy. But when his old girlfriend disappears, something has to be done. Qwilleran, Koko and Yum Yum set out to solve the mystery--and find a murderer!

I have read a few fom this series and have to agree, its probably the best one I have read so far. I enjoy the humour, the cats and the human characters. Not to mention the settings. The quintessential cozy mystery series.
I will now be sending this book along to pinkbug1.

Delightful! One of the best "Cat who's" I've read so far. With one problem... I was hungry most of the time, reading about delicious meals :D

This was my second The Cat Who book and I think I enjoyed this even more than the first one I read (The Cat Who Ate Danish Modern). The characters are such a funny collection of people and the cats are just wonderful. A lovely, cozy detective story. Thanks for sharing!

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

At the meeting.

Journal Entry 24 by bookguide at Wijchen, Gelderland Netherlands on Monday, July 06, 2015
I picked this up at the annual Dutch Unconvention (though it's not officially called that) in Castricum, held in a café literally on the beach. I keep hearing how good her 'Cat Who...' series and I happened to have one in Dutch on this month's bookshelf, 'De kat die kleur bekende'. Turns out this is the original English of that one, so I can save that to release at a meeting or in the bookhouse I'm getting soon.

It's lovely to see this book is so well-travelled and has been through the hands of people I "know" from the forum and/or Goodreads. *waves at Tribefan, libertine101, Chania, Annimanni and, of course, dutch-book*

I started reading this in Denmark last year, but didn’t get round to writing a review. If I find my notes, I’ll add them later. I know I enjoyed it because I made a mental note to read more of this series, should I come across them. In fact, I was sorely tempted to buy more at a wonderful secondhand bookshop I came across in Copenhagen.
