Booker Prize finalist in 2000 or 2001... looks like a luminous book. This is from the back cover from Kirkus Reviews: "[Delores Gauci] tells her story in fragments, which come to life through a child's perceptions: slightly tilted, incomplete, yet remarkably perceptive.
