A short read of only 199 pages but still took me about 60 pages to get into! It is said that good things come in small packages but this book didn't really do alot for me. Another book that was shortlisted for The Orange Prize that disappointed me. Ok, it was very elegantly written with a few mildly comical moments but it was boring! A group of bohemians living in a strange building in South London called The Nautilus and that's about as exciting as it gets!
If this had been my first book by this author it would have deterred me from reading any of her other novels but Orchard on Fire was brilliant!

Found this on a bookshelf at Hotel Gasperin on Lake Bohinj (Slovenia), thought I'd catch it and set it on its way.
No JE for 8 years so hopefully it's a nice surprise that it's been caught.
