Just bought this and can't wait to read it.

Update: 1/5/05
I finished this book a while back. I found the story very addictive and the characters quite captivating. I recommended it to a few people and only had one taker, but she didn't leave a journal entry. Think I may just leave it out on the Bookcrossing table at my office.

If you want this one, let me know.

RELEASE NOTES:

I'm trusting the US Postal Service to get this delightful read off to LUNDI in The Netherlands. Thanks for participating, Lundi...I hope you find some other Bookcrossers (or potential Bookcrossers) in your land who will also enjoy this read.
Enjoy!

Received the book yesterday, my first Cliff1976 Wishlist wish fulfilled. It's so nice to have a book pop up in your life like this! Thanks, pulpmode, and thanks, cliff1976.

The postcard of Minneapolis made me realise how far this book has travelled to end up on my kitchen table. From now on I think I will put in postcards of Nijmegen in books I send out. I will read it and pass it on to someone else who has it on his wishlist.

The master is back! I was totally addicted to his books years ago, but the most recent books I've read by Stephen King have all been slightly disappointing... But this one has got more ghosts than you can keep track off mixed with romance and a bit of Grisham, all coming together in no less than three thrilling endings one after the other.

I read it by the pool on holiday in Italy and passed it on to my best friend who was there as well. She introduced me to Stephen King sixteen years ago when she was staying over at my house. We were sleeping in a tent in the garden and took turns at reading to eachother from 'TheShining'.

The book is on it's way to New Zealand, to ielfling's new house. Happy travels.

And here it is, in our new house which is a sea of cardboard boxes and stacks of paperbacks fighting for shelf space! Cheers, lundi! I think, now, seeing this book, that I might have read it a while back but I find a lot of Stephen King makes enjoyable re-reading, specially in such a chaotic time - new baby, new house, and starting back at work this week... will journal more when I've read this. You've also inspired me to get organised and print out my bookcrossing labels rather than write them. Now as soon as I get Shardik off my mum I will send your two trades off :)

Thanks, lundi, I enjoyed that a lot. A good solid Christmas holiday read, without the pure scariness of the Shining or his earlier stuff, but just enough to give me a few hesitations about turning out the light. What I really like about Stephen King these days is his ability to make a sense of place. The descriptions of the Fryeburg Fair are especially good. Took me a while to get into this one, but it definitely gathered momentum - the hunt for the owls was also a really great piece of writing. Love the way he can take the paraphernalia of people and places, all the flotsam and jetsam of human living, give it enough fantastical twist to make it interesting, and invest it with a sense of living, of solid real dense life at its tastiest. If that makes sense.
And as it is nicely labelled up as a book on a journey, I will think of something cunning to do with it to pass it along, somehow. Haven't wild released a book yet but this will probably be my first!

Received today in a parcel from ielfling for the 4th NZ BookCrossing Convention. Less than 2 weeks to go now; the excitement is mounting. It means though that I don't have time any more to browse through interesting looking books.

There are definitely Stephen King fans among our registered attenders.

This book already has quite a history, very impressive!

Someone I know asked me if I saw any Stephen King books to pick them up for them.
Kevin (My mum's partner) is a Stephen King fan too so will see if he wants to read this book first before I pass it on to another Stephen King fan in Reefton, hopefully they'll journal the book.
