This is a book that I should have read years ago.
I feel like the polemic over ran the prose.
I liked the story line, but the characters seemed
thin and much of it seemed staged or artificial.
Maybe that was the point though. Afterall, it
is a largely artificial society that is being
described. Yet, still, none of the characters
became more than characters to me. I never really
believed in any of them.

Drastically thinning out my TBR shelves and making this AVL.
I read this several years ago, and thought it was a very important book to share with others.
I'm going to start a bookbox this fall for "Books about Books," and I decided to look for a copy of this to include in that box. Thanks so much to LucyBrown for sharing and CheesyGiraffe for sending this to me. (Anansi Boys is in the mail, CG!)

Going into my "Books about Books" bookbox.
Going into my "Books about Books" bookbox.
This came in the mail today. I am planning on reading this book with my fiance.
I read this book several years ago. I decided to reread it and discuss with my husband. Book burning and censoring were interesting topics to discuss. This book is a frightening look at what society could become with the wrong leadership. I am planning on doing a couples RABCK with both Fehrenheit books.
I loved this book when I read it several years ago. I can't wait to read it again, this time with my son who is becoming very aware of politics. Our discussions should be rather interesting after this.
