Advance reader edition I bought for $2 from Four Seasons Books and the entire amount goes to the Shepherdstown library.

From back of book;
Rosie and Alex are destined for one another, and everyone seems to know it but them. Best friends since childhood, their relationship gets closer by the day, until Alex gets the news that his family is leaving Dublin and moving to Boston. At 17, Rosie and Alex have just started to see each other in a more romantic light. Devastated, the two make plans for Rosie to apply to colleges in the U.S. She gets into Boston University, Alex gets into Harvard, and everything is falling into place, when on the eve of her departure, Rosie gets news that will change their lives forever: She's pregnant by a boy she'd gone out with while on the rebound from Alex. Her dreams for college, Alex, and a glamorous career dashed, Rosie stays in Dublin to become a single mother, while Alex pursues a medical career and a new love in Boston. But destiny is a funny thing, and in this novel, structured as a series of clever e-mails, letters, notes, and a trail of missed opportunities, Alex and Rosie find out that fate isn't done with them yet.

Thank you Zmrzlina! This will be added to the "books-from-other-BCers-TBR" pile that I'm currently trying to dwindle down, so I hope to read this sooner rather than later. I can't believe you picked it up for 2 bucks - cool! I never find good bargains like that. We don't really have any cool used bookstores out here...

Special thanks for the CDs! I was expecting one, not a whole collection (which I have named Z's Traveling Tunes)!! I guess I will have to put my book on CD aside for awhile and see what music is waiting for me!

I look forward to reading this book as well as listening to the music! You rock!

Quite a book! A good story, although I liked P.S. I Love You much better. This story was told completely through emails and letters, and spans about 45 years in the life of the main character. I enjoyed how events started to repeat in the life of her daughter. I was glad for the predictable and pleasant ending. All I can say is it was about damn time!

Hopefully, the discrepancies between the ages of Rosie and her daughter were corrected before the final version of this book went to print. It seems to me Rosie was 17 when she had Katie; then later there's a comment about Katie turning 5 and Rosie is 23, then Rosie is celebrating her 36th birthday not long before Katie is 16, and then Katie is turning 21 as Rosie hits 40.
