It was fun to read about the tea houses, particularly the ones I've seen myself. But for little shocks of bliss, it's hard to beat the recipes in the back. Tarts, cakes, cookies! It's a shame we don't really do "tea time" in the States; it seems like the sugar and warmth in the late afternoon would have a civilizing effect.
