Thank you !
From back cover:
"Craving an adventure to wake them from their lethargic Mexican holiday before they return home, a group of four friends impulsively set off in search of one of their own who has travelled to the interior to investigate an archaeological dig in the Mayan ruins.
After a long journey into the heart of the jungle, the group come across a trail. A hillside covered in bright red flowers lures them closer. A Mayan horseman approaches behind them. But this is no friendly welcome: he has a gun and orders them away fiercely. In the midst of the confrontation, one of the group steps inadvertently backwards into the vine. And at that moment their world changes for ever . . ."
FYI: The Ruins - IMDb.
Directed by Carter Smith 2008 starring Shawn Ashmore, Jena Malone and Jonathan Tucker.
A group of friends whose leisurely Mexican holiday takes a turn for the worse when they, along with a fellow tourist, embark on a remote archaeological dig in the jungle where something evil lives among the ruins.
Definitely horror ! Many images will stick with me for a long time, I'm sure.
Was tempted to put it aside as I found it so unpleasant - yet the 'need to know' was stronger than flicking to the last page - which I'm sure would have been easier.
Would be great to read on a plane. Unless visiting Mayan ruins.
