Bought today for the m-bag going to The Netherlands for Moem's OBCZs and any other Dutch BookCrossers she wants to share with!

In case you're wondering how I chose what books I would buy, I chose books by popular authors, recognizable titles, and in good shape.

Another book from Antof9's great big M-bag. Thank you so much! It will be released at an OBCZ or directly to another Bookcrosser. It's great to have so much OBCZ stock, and books to hand out to members!

Good choice, this is by a popular author indeed, also here in the Netherlands.

Excellent book; a well researched, exciting story.

WARNING! Next text contains SPOILERS!
My husband and I have recently watched a Horizon documentary (BBC) about the development of computerchips. I recognized some of what was told in the documentary in this book. A bit of history of computers(development) is told and the internet is predicted, altough not precisely in the same words (this book is from 1980). I especially liked the following part:
'Comparison to older manufacturing technologies makes this clear. Detroit was content to make trivial product design changes at three-year intervals, but the electronics industry routinely expected order of magnitude advances in the same time. (To keep pace, Detroit would have had to increase automobile gas mileage from 8 miles per gallon in 1970 to 80,000,000 miles per gallon in 1979. Instead, Detroit went from 8 to 16 miles per gallon during that time, further evidence of the coming demise of the automotive industry as the center of American economy.)' Excellent prediction about Detroit!

Very good book, I liked it a lot. Very suspenseful.
Sometimes a bit dated technology wise, but in around 1980 this must have been very high tech stuff ;-)
