The Queen's Fool

Another book from the authoer of The Other Boleyn Girl, a book I thoroughly enjoyed. This one is about a young Jewish girl who becomes a spy at Princess Mary Tudor.
Well written book and historically accurate, bringing up some interesting points to ponder. However, the romance bits are written like a Mills&Boon novel, complete with heaving bossoms, detracting from the hisorical suspense somewhat.

Picked up at bookcrossingie meeting because I am a fool who takes too many books.
I've read another Phillippa Gregory that I enjoyed, The Virgin's Lover, so I expect good things from this.

A good mix of history and fiction. Not knowing what will happen the main character keeps you guessing, unlike reading something more directly about the major historical characters. For example, I didn't share her fear of what would happen Dudley, as I already knew from other books. Funnily though, the part I found least interesting was when she was away from the historical happenings.
One bit I found strange was the unsympathetic portrayal of Amy Dudley. She was a much more sympathetic character in The Virgin's Lover. You expect different portrayals by different authors, but this was the same author!
I'll keep an eye out for her other books.
