This has been kicking around my 'to be read' pile for quite a while. I'm admitting that I'll never get around to it!

Picked up at the bookcrossing meeting tonight.
This book looks really cute - even though I don't think it's a "cute" type of book.
Will journal after I've read.
Thanks again!

This book has been promised to CdnBlueRose once I finish reading it.

Rachel Porter is a US Fish and Wildlife agent, just reassigned to Nevada. Soon, it is reported that 350 tortoises have just vanished. Rachel unweaves a big disaster of related illegal activities with the local mining facility, a housing firm, local ranchers, etc etc. It ends up being a classic who-dunnit.
It wasn't a bad story. I was slightly bothered by the scenario of the bad guy explaining why they are so bad at the end, as I see this as a sign of not being creative enough to come up with a way of getting around the "why the bad guy did it" problem.

I'm going to see if AceOfHearts wants to read this, because we share bookshelves. If she does, I'll give it to her. In the end, it will end up going to CdnBlueRose, as I promised her this book as a trade.

This is a strange Who-dun-it. You know from the beginning who it is, the main question is how it will turn out. Which was not too well. The story is pretty good. SPOILER
I just don't like endings where all turns out well. Why can't the real bad guys get caught!!
