My name was Salmon, like the fish: first name, Susie. I was fourteen when I was murdred on December 6, 1973. So begins the story of Susie Salmon, who is adjusting to her new home in heaven, a place that is not at all what she expected, even as she is watching life on earth continue without her - her friends trading numerous rumors about her disappearance, her killer trying to cover his tracks, her grief-stricken family unraveling. Out of unspeakable tragedy and loss, The Lovely Bones succeeds, miraculously, in building a tale filled with hope, humor, suspense, even joy.
I loved this book, very emotional topic but a great read.. Willing to do this one as a bookring if anyone is interested!

SOOOOOO sorry for the delay, there was a mixup with the BCID.
I forgot to journal this book when I received it, and then it got lost in a pile in my office. My sincerest apologies.
I flew through this book. The writing was fluid and beautiful. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, but the book was actually very uplifting and I enjoyed reading it.
Again, sorry for the delay. It will be sent to the next person on the list shortly!

Got this book in the mail yesterday. I've really been looking forward to reading it. Thanks for the bookring sunshinedreem.
Thank you for sending this book out as a bookring sunshinedreem. I had really been wanting to read it and my friends had been having discussions about it. This has been one of the best books I've read in a long time. Yes, it's different from my usual read but that's the great thing about bookcrossing: you get introduced to new and different books. Alice Sebold has written a very strong and devastating book. Written from the perspective of a fourteen year old, murder victim but it is still packed with hope and a chance for survival for loved ones and friends.
This bookring is on its way to Apolonia.
The book is here, I have a few ahead of it but will get to it asap.
I finished this one a few days ago, I have to say I did like the book. I love books with a different concept. I did enjoy the beginning much better than the end. I haven't figured out why yet. It just sort of grabbed me and I jump right in, then it seemed to move along slowly.
There was a thread recently on which books made you cry and I now have to add this one to the list.
***Spoiler alert*** (Incase this goes to anyone else)
I did not like the part when she came back in Ruth's body and had sex with Ray. It kind of broke the spell for me if that makes any sense.
Of course I also wished that the killer had been caught. It was lousy that back in the seventies someone could keep moving around commiting the same crimes over and over and get away with it due to lack of technology. It's amazing how far we've come in that field in such a short time. My last complaint is that I hated that the mother took off, but I guess everyone deals with things in their own way.
Thanks for sharing SunshineDreem, this was on my wishlist for a long time. I should have this in the mail in the next day or two.
