This book Deadly Diamonds, is the first in a new series by Pamela Troutman about Len Townsend, a private eye in Rockport, Tx. It's funny, fast paced, a great read. In this book, Len is intrigued by several desperate messages left on his answering machine by Marilyn, a woman who says she needs his help and sounds just like the famous movie star with the same name. Before the private detective can locate her, he meets with another client whose daughter is in big trouble. Both women pull him in different directions until he begins to see a possible connection and more dead bodies that he can stomach. I started this book one evening and couldn't put it down until I finished, around 2:30 the next morning, and consequently was too sleepy to go to work that day. (It was worth it!) If you only read one book this year, make this one that book. THis book is so new that the only place I know it is available is Amazon.com.
