Some of it is re-hashed. Some of it sounds like your typical liberal whining. Yet, so much of it resembles your friends and family, you take a couple minutes to reassess your priorities in life.
April, 2006 - Saw David Wann speak during Earth Day Week (um... oh never mind), and he elaborated on the topic of sustainable living. The way he spoke about the disposable nature of American consumerism really made UofIguy realize that my bookcrossing and freecycle -ing are not indicators that I need to be institutionalized, but I'm saving the world.

Just got in the mail today. Thanks for the opportunity to read this book, uofigirl.
It took me a while, but I finished.
I was occasionally tired of or annoyed by the metaphor which compares our consumer culture to a sickness, but still, the points are well made.
I already think in the back of my mind whether I need to spend money on something.
I think this book will help us all, but probably if you're reading it, you already have some concern for obscene or unnecessary spending and consumerism.
I'm PMing next person on the list.

I found it to be repetitive, preachy, and dry. Perhaps the television show was a more effective medium for presenting this message?
I am contacting the next person on the list for their address.

Eep. I thought I'd mailed this one on, but apparently I haven't. BC is telling me that there are no members named jlynnt, so if s/he could get in touch with me and let me know whether they are still a member and if I should send the book to them or skip to the next person, I'd appreciate it. Apologies everyone for the delay.
Received this in the mail today. Thank you.
I loved this book, but I tend to enjoy this genre. I already own Your Money or Your Life which is one of the books that they refer to in Affluenza. I just find that it's good to remind myself what type of lifestyle I really want to have. It also makes me more conscious of my spending and my effect on the earth. Thanks for the opportunity to read this, uofigirl.
