Well how can I compare my journal entry to yours if you haven't read it? Although stories of people dying of painful, inoperable cancer bent on suicide don't usually get my attention this man's story was told in a very moving way. His trek "east of the mountains" involved many reflections on his life so far going back to his childhood in the apple orchards, his time in the war, his marriage and the reason he became a surgeon. On his journey towards suicide the author has you meet other inconsequential people who influence him to live his remaining days with his family although none told him that directly. A thought provoking book about what you might go through and what your family might edure also.
