One of the ways I coped with my blue state blues was reading this incredibly insightful and truthful look inside politics. Dave Barry's knowledge of what really happens in Washington D.C. is phenomenal. snicker snicker This book brought me to tears of happiness which was a nice change from my tears of disappointment. :) My poor husband was bombarded with me reading him excerpts from this book. Just too funny at times. Chapter 7 was hysterical, "The Making of the President 2000 (or) Let’s Give Florida Back to Spain (Assuming Spain will take it)." Wonder if the offer has been made yet? Scary that the next book, Carl Hiaasen's Kick Ass, I read reinforced the wacky and absurd truths that are politics in South Florida.

Each and every chapter in some way incorporates giant zucchini. It is prophetic that I had planned to give it to my dad to read after me. He is king of growing giant zucchini and many of them. Plan on handing this book to him on Thanksgiving.

My daughter has yet again handed over to me another hilarious book by Dave Barry. It was wonderful to finally learn the truth about our government. This was fun to read it kept me chuckling late into the night.

This book was good, quick, and amusing. I especially enjoyed the last half about the election.
My boyfriend happend to be in DC at the time when I was reading this. I told him he would have to read this book when he came back..especially the virtual tour of DC. (While he was there, he called me while standing in front of the White House. He asked me if there was anything I'd like to say to the president... since I was at work at the time, I couldn't utter the words I'd love to have said. Oh well.)
