Outwardly successful Frazier is forced to wonder about the meaning of her life and the artificial structures that hold it (and her Southern social circle) together when she suddenly finds herself dying in the hospital. As a last act of truth, she writes and mails letters to all her friends and family, coming clean about everything she thinks they ought to know about her, including some long-held opinions and the fact that she's gay. Instead of making a peaceful getaway, however, Frazier survives against the odds....to face the upheavals caused by her truthfulness (and eventually some very unusual acquaintances). Funny and smart, Brown's exploration of the nature of love and truth is a delightful romp to curl up with on a lazy afternoon or chilly evening.
