Margaret Atwood sure can write, that's for certain. This novel is so well written that it's absorbing, but I sometimes had a hard time with what can be a detached style that she uses. Definitely think it's worth the time it takes to read, as it is a longish book that is densely packed with thoughts.

I left this book on a ledge right in front of the library. I hope someone finds it and enjoys it! I thought there might be avid readers in this part of town. :)

I found it today in the wild and I'm glad because I've been wanting to read it. So I started while eating lunch. I'll release it back into the wild when I finish, because that's fun.
This book was turned over to me by a friend in El Dorado County who received it from another friend in Amador County. I'll read and review it before leaving it somewhere!
CAUGHT IN PLACERVILLE CA USA
Ok, off it goes! I enjoyed it very much. I think it's a combination of Atwood's style and the time and setting of the novel but, it is, as acerbicpixie described it, an engrossing story that also keeps the reader at arm's length.

Journal Entry 5 by Pville at Superior Court On Main St. in Placerville, California USA on Wednesday, January 3, 2007
RELEASE NOTES:
Headed for the courthouse to release this book...
Change of plans- a deputy sheriff convinced me the book would end up in the garbage if I left it at the courthouse so I took it to a place where people wouldn't consider throwing a "found" book away- the main library.
