The Legend of Sleepy Hollow: And, Rip Van Winkle

I read this story quite a while ago. I like it because it is scary but in an old-timey way.
RABCK-ing (is that a word?) to aspyngirl. Enjoy it!
Ichabod Crane arrived today! The book is in VERY nice condition and looks like a great read. Thanks for sending this my way. I'll be moving it along soon.
One of my favorite things about this story is the chilling suspence Washington Irving uses to taunt the readers. Great characters, original plot lines, and colorful details make a great story, but Irving made his audiences tremble with an unforgettable sensation of suspense.
Following The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is the tale of Rip Van Winkle. It is as familiar as the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. I think it is wittier and more casual, but both stories are a refreshing read. Readers beware: Irving is an early American author, so his writing style uses a language and sentence structure that is at times awkward and archaic. The deiscovery of new words is a plus here, but it is a bit frustrating if you aren't good at paraphrasing or if you get bored with verboseness easily.
