Cultivating Delight: A Natural History of My Garden
3 journalers for this copy...
This was a great book. I got it as a gift. I think the person who gave it to me will be understanding when she finds out that I decided to pass it on.
This book has been chosen by a fellow Book Crossing member. As soon as I get an address I'm going to be sending it off.
Journal Entry 3 by Trip-Lit at -- By Hand Or Post, Ray/Ring, RABCK, Meet-up in Palatine, Illinois USA on Sunday, September 1, 2002
Release planned for Tuesday, September 03, 2002 at Mailbox of fellow book crossing member in Palatine, Illinois USA.
The book arrived -- to my business address -- and I am like a child at Christmas! I enjoyed A Natural History of the Senses, so was delighted that Trip-Lit made this available to me. Can't wait to start it, and my mind is dancing with possibilities of where to release it . . .or to whom. I love gardening but am quite an amateur . . . don't know if my gardening friends will honor the bookcrossing code . . .so I may have to let this one run its own course! Thank you Trip-Lit (both of you!).
Ackerman's lyrical writing is worth reading. I have to say I found myself time and again wondering "how did we get here?" I found this rambling and her insistence on naming all her roses repeatedly a bit much and attribute it to the vague nature of anyone writing the "natural history of their garden." As fellow 'crosser Debrayn requested this book, I will put it in the mail to her tomorrow.
Rreleased to me by fellow bookcrosser "Red" - Looking forward to reading another book by Diane Ackerman
