I really enjoyed this book. The main character's name is "Hiro Protagonist." You just can't get much better than that. The book deals with a cyberpunk, possible-tomorrow-type world, and Stephenson does it better than anyone I've read.

If you liked this book, then you'll absolutely love Diamond Age, also by Neal Stephenson. It deals with a further future and it shows that Stephenson is a genius. The only problem with it is that it makes you want a sequel. Maybe he'll oblige. I'm in the process of reading everything he's written, and I can't recommend him too highly.
