Pinkie, a boy gangster in pre-war Brighton, is a Catholic dedicated to evil and damnation. In a dark setting of double crossing and razor slashes, his ambition and hatreds are horribly fulfilled, until Ida determines to convict him for murder.
On it's way to Robert-Walker for him to continue from where he left off in the pub!
Many thanks Chris for sending me this book, i've been wanting to read this since i picked it up in a bar in Spain last year, i read the first fifty pages or so but i didn't have the heart to take the book as i didn't have a book with me to replace it, so i can't wait to get stuck into it again.
Are you sure i can't tempt you with anything from my bookshelf? -)

I remember picking this book up some years ago and reading the first few pages. I was alone in Torremolinos, Spain, I went into a bar for a drink, the bar was empty, which is my kind of bar save for a few books on a shelf. I picked this one up and read for awhile but the bar slowly fill up and eventually an awful band arrived and that put a stop to my reading this book.
So now a few years later I finally get to read it from beginning to end. The subject matter is perhaps a little borderline, murder and violence in 1930's Brighton. The Boy Pinkie at only 17 years of age becomes leader of a gang, kills a guy and seemingly gets away with it if not for the inquisitive Ida Arnold. Has she begins to uncover the truth he slowly gets rid of his friends, his gang, the ones who know the truth, the ones who can incriminate him. So by hook or by crook the boy slowly tries to protect himself by whatever means possible.
Thanks acanthium32 for giving me the chance to finish this book
