Imaginative, well-researched historical novel centered around a young Marrano woman who finds her way to the Tudor courts of England. I gave it a 10 for its insight into what such awful early experiences would have turned one into psychologically, and for its lack of stock characters. Really, really well-done IMO.

SO very excited to read this! I read The Other Boleyn Girl and was fascinated by how Gregory draws you in with her simple descriptions of elaborate circumstances. When I read the description of this one, which is even MORE in my favorite period, I knew I had to read it. THank you so much, CathrynBauer!
