Confessions of a Shopaholic

This isn't an Oprah-style book. It won't make you look at your life, although it may make you look at your credit card balance. But it's a very entertaining book about a woman who attempts (I use that word mildly) to take control of her shopping habits. Really funny!!! Definitely a good, light-hearted summer (or winter!) read!!

I received this in the mail today. I have already promised it to "onesmartcookie" when I have read it. Thanks "EthelAlcohol"! =^..^=
Oversized paperback. 312 pages.
An enjoyable book. Light reading in the style of the Bridget Jones books. The protagonist in this novel reminds me of my old roommate, who is a bit of a shopaholic. I personally like shopping for bargains and books!

PS-I wrote this message, submitted it, totally forgetting to checkmark the "leave it in the wild" option. I'm so sorry!! :(
[I deleted it, trying to get the "in the wild" icon back, but it didn't work, so I just re-wrote the message. ]

I have recieved this book and have completely forgotten if I made a journal entry or not so here I am :-) I will read and write a journal note once completed. Thanks!
Good grief, I have had this book for..six months!
The story of a woman who loves to shop dispite the consequences.
Consumers. Money. Journalism. Humour. Desperation. What more could you want for a light and tasty read?!
I really enjoyed this book. In fact, I would say that it is beefed up version of Bridget Jones. There are some similarities. Ie, single working woman, romantic interludes and indulgences. However, this is a little easier to digest and believable. What is interesting is that the author's background is finance so that adds to the insider information.
While cringing at my non existant bank balance, I am able to laugh at my over indulgent spending habits. Now, I must call Yves back and cancel my order for the new spring Chanel line. Maybe I'll just buy one tube of lipstick. But, I do need some mascara...
