This was part of a box of 80 old sci-fi paperbacks printed in the 60s and 70s given to me by a friend. Unfortunately, i'm not a sci-fi fan so they're all up for grabs or release. This one will be sent to harmaja, in Finland.

Yay! I received 4 cool, classic sci-fi books from Folia. Thank you so much! I love the look, and the feel, and even the smell of sci-fi paperbacks from 60's and 70's!
Despite his sexism and other weird attitudes of his, Heinlein is one of my favourite sci-fi authors. This book looks promising!

Well, I've certainly kept this book for a long time!
I recently started reading The Green Hills of Earth, and it turned out to be a collection of short stories. I'm sorry to say I only managed to read three of them. Since they totally failed to excite my interest, I gave up. The stories I read felt outdated, sexist, and stuffy. The title story was so laden with pathos that it was inadvertedly funny, but not funny enough to be truly amusing.
I know Robert A. Heinlein has written many good books, and even some great books, such as The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress, The Cat Who Walks Through Walls, and Job: The Comedy of Justice. These short stories certainly failed to reach the level of good writing I was expecting. I've stated above that I don't mind finding Heinlein's works quite sexistic, and that's normally true, since I often find his writing amusing and clever and I enjoy it on many levels. This time, however, all the sexism really bugged me as well, because I wasn't even enjoying what I was reading.
All in all, I see no point in reading the rest of the book. There is no fun in it for me. Instead, I'll release The Green Hills of Earth at the next national sci-fi convention, Finncon 2007. Maybe some sci-fi enthusiast will be curious enough to pick it up. Maybe they'll be more appreciative than I was, who knows.
Sorry for keeping the book for so long, Folia! And thanks for sending it to me in the first place - I'm grateful for having had a go at it, although it proved a disappointment! All the books we read can't meet our expectations, alas.

Hey, I didn't need to wait for the next Finncon after all! I gave The Green Hills of Earth to a sci-fi enthusiast couple who will both want to read it! So, now the book travels either to Espoo or to Sodankylä in Northern Finland. Happy journey!
One of the tens of books in my shelf waiting to be read. So many books, so little time...
