From the back of the book:
Men and women are kind of equal. They work, they earn. Women still have the babies and sometimes they earn more...
So you do the grown-up thing and volunteer to stay hom for your brand-new daughter's first year while your wife goes back to work. Your mates are supportive - or so it seems. Are they jealous or are they snickering? Anyway, that's the plan. What can happen?
Lots...
And you know this when you impale your head on the front door just after waving your wife to work on the very first day. You learn a lot. How to:
1. Master the various arts of changing vile nappies (and the subtle etiquette that goes with it!)
2. Play the part at 'play dates' and mother's group (why 'open sandwiches'?)
3. Make friends with Miss Perky
4. Make the horrifying connection with pencils and constipated babies (best not to go there)
5. Master the secret skills of winning Martyr's Game against your partner (first to a million points before lunch, wins)

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Looks like a fun book and I'm looking forward to reading it after I clear a path through the bookrings. Thanks!
All finished! Just what I needed to distract me from the housework and as an antidote to the Catherine M bookring I'm supposed to be reading.
Think I'll do a wild release with this one.

Received in the mail late last week *Scism hangs head in shame for not journalling sooner*. Thanks to sunny27 for such a delightful RABCK!
I heard the author a number of times on Radio National a few years ago talking about his experiences of being a stay at home Dad, and I've been keen to read his book ever since. And I think this one will be doing the rounds of our family before it heads off to greener pastures!
