I'm willing to LEND books from my Personal Collection (PC) to RESPONSIBLE individuals, on the condition that you return them to me when you're done. Please see my profile for details.
This is a first novel for Kim Harrison, and I'm already looking forward to her next one (due out Feb 2005).
From back cover:
All the creatures of the night gather in "the Hollows" of Cincinnati, to hide, to prowl, to party, and to feed.
Vampires rule the darkness in a predator-eat-predator world rife with dangers beyond imagining--and it's Rachel Morgan's job to keep that world civilized.
A bounty hunter and witch with serious sex appeal and an attitude, she'll bring 'em back alive, dead... or undead.

Though I originally read Dead Witch Walking last year, I wanted to give it a quick reread prior to starting on the sequel, The Good, The Bad, and The Undead, since I didn't recall all of the characters from the first book. Plus I liked it well enough the first time around...
This is a great first novel from this new author, who only just released her second one, The Good, The Bad, and The Undead, last month. The action is snappy, the characters are interesting, and the plot keeps you on the edge of your seat. I'm looking forward to reading the entire series as she puts them out.
Though I received 3 new bookring books the other day, I'm going to stick with my original plan and read The Good, The Bad, and The Undead before starting on those as I'm sure I'll get through this second book in less than a week as well.

Lent this to my friend Holly to read. I put a BookCrossing label inside in the hopes of getting her to journal her thoughts on it when she's done.

Very funny and witty book ! Bit slow to start with but then the storyline picked up and I just love the pixie Jenks - cool wee character ! The only experience I have had with vampires so far (dare I say it) is Buffy butI must say it was much more fun to read Rachel Morgan's adventures ! This arrived safe and sound yesterday. I'm looking forward to reading it. Thanks for sharing some good-looking paranormals, Cherie. :)
I finally, finally finished this one. I've been reading it on and off and I thank Cherie for the extended loan. It took me awhile to get through this read becuse my interest in it wained at times. I found the backstory and the fantasy part interesting, but I felt the story dragged in some places. The whole time Rachel was caged up as a mink left me wondering if there would be any more action. It got better for me after the escape from the rat fights, so I can honestly say I enjoyed this novel and look forward to the rest of the series. Thanks again, Cherie!
Sent back home today to CheriePie. Thanks, Cherie!
Yay! I'm back with my owner after a world tour to many interesting places!! Thank you everyone for taking such good care of me and making sure I made it back home safely. Sincerely, ~the book~
