The Endless Steppe

I liked this book when I read it years ago because it was one of those true stories about what happens to a Jewish family during Hitler's Poland. They are exiled to Siberia where they must survive for five years. Tales of human survival despite the odds I find interesting and a testamony to the resilient human spirit in the face of injustice.
Perhaps a book for younger readers (teens), but I would think it would be interesting for adults to read as well. Especially because most young adults do not have a concrete idea of what war is like and what the people who are victimized have to go through. This book is written from a child's viewpoint makes it fresh and bs-free, which I think makes it even more frank and interesting to read.
