Got it in the mail today! It's in my TBR pile. Thanks!
This was an endearing book. Witty, but yet pulling. Seeing people being made and unmade by their own hands, but with a quirky style of writing. You care about the characters, even if you don't like them very much. It's a fun read, but it has a message with it too.
On its way to JennyO a few days ago.
About a Boy arrived today. I'm looking forward to reading it. I'm a fan of Hornby's books, and I loved this movie, so I'm sure I'll enjoy the novel.
Thanks for sharing the book, amber-h!

Started this book last night and finished it today. I really like Hornby, and this is one of my favorite books of his. Hornby's got a real talent for capturing the voice and thoughts of a young boy. Marcus is an odd, but endearing little guy, and I love the way he helps the characters around him grow up (even the ones that should have grown up years ago).
If you're wondering whether you should read the book or rent the movie, I'd say either way you'd be okay. The movie sticks pretty close to the book -- in plot, dialogue, and spirit. Plus, the movie has Hugh Grant. :-)
I really enjoyed reading this book. Thanks for sharing it with me amber-h. Sorry it took me so long to get to it. I plan to take it to the Bookcrossing Convention in April and see if someone there would like it. If not, I'll release it somewhere in Ft. Worth that weekend.
