This was quite a good book I thought. I did enjoy reading all of the clothes references and at the end I thought 'finally' lol! I won't give too much away but I'm sure the next person in the list will enjoy it too. Thanks!

Journal Entry 8 by YowlYY on Monday, October 18, 2004
Arrived today, thank you! I am very curious to read this, as I've heard all sorts of comments on the book, but for the moment it will have to wait a little on my TBR shelf, until I have finished 2 more books I've received in the last weeks. Please be patient! ;)

Journal Entry 9 by YowlYY on Sunday, October 31, 2004
This book had me struggling for the first 150 pages or so...I couldn't see the point in all that listing of brands, and really irritated me. Also, the Andrea character was not so likeable, and her way of behaving was not so convincing, IMHO. However, once I persevered in reading, I found the second book half quite fun, the kind of read to relax on the way home after an exhausting day at work. A piece of chick lit that would surely be most enjoyed by the fans of the genre.

Robert Altman's "Pret-a-porter" is a must for all those who are interested in a more accurate & sarcastic view of the fashion world... go watch this film again ;)

Thanks to FiBe for giving me the opportunity of reading this - the book is now ready to cross the Channel :)

I finished the book yesterday night. I really liked it, thought that it was written very well (a lot better than I expected). But… it was way too long. After the first couple of chapters I got a good understanding of Miranda’s evilness. But it went on and on and on… When you thought that it could not be worse, it got worse. Terrible! I think Andy could have left her job a lot sooner. And I think in the end she waited too long to go back home to see Lily.
Strange to me was Andy’s relationship with Alex. I think that if Andy would have been a Dutch girl, she would have definitely looked for an apartment to share with Alex in stead of Lily. Especially because they had such a hard time seeing each other because of their busy schedules. That they did break up in the end surprised me.

Thank you FiBe, for sharing. The book will start traveling to piiku in Finland tomorrow.

The book arrived yesterday, with a beautiful postcard. Thank you, Wilmar!

Very funny and easy-to-read. The references to clothes/brands irritated me a little (because I do not know a thing about them?), but the she-devil "Ahn-dre-ah" was working for was quite an interesting character...

The book will be sent to Porto as soon as I get the address from Sanjyian.

Hi, I'm sorry to only post a message now, but with the hollidays it's been madness. The book arrived on the 23 of December, right in time for Christmas. I've already started reading it and I'm lovig it.
By the way thanks for the lovely porstcard Piiku. Paljon kiitos :)

Right... the book got here a couple of days ago, but I couldn't journal it until now as my computer wasn't working properly.

And yes, I've read it... The only problem was that the only character I liked was Miranda... And Christian, come to think of it... Not really my thing, but thanks for sharing!

on its way to zoeking...

Journal Entry 16 by ZoeKing from Amsterdam, Noord-Holland Netherlands on Friday, July 15, 2005
Received it over the mail yesterday, all the way from Bonn, Germany. It arrived at the perfect moment, since I was all set to relax and read in the sun, deckchair in the garden, cool drink at hand....

Journal Entry 17 by ZoeKing from Amsterdam, Noord-Holland Netherlands on Tuesday, July 26, 2005
Sooo, have finished the book in no-time....it was most definitely a fun read, although somewhat implausible and, yes, irritating at times. But then, hey, that's chick-lit for ya. Still, it gave me a nice take on the fashion magazines world and the shallow people that inhabit it. I will never look at Vogue in quite the same way (or at least not without having to block all those thrown-away breakfasts from my mind's eye)...Straightened my priorities out, I guess.
It's on its way to Lastchancetosee now, as sweetpea had already procured her own copy.
(Last chance to see: post office told me it could take a while, since all packages going through US customs are delayed due to major post 9/11 & London check ups. Expect at least a good three weeks delivery time)

Anyway, thanks again FiBe for this bookray! It was my first, and what a nice surprise it is to receive a book over the mail...(even though you half expect it to come)

Finished the book. It was nice light reading--a fun book! I went to NYC last weekend and as I passed the offices for The New Yorker I imagined that Andrea was there pitching them a story idea! Thank you for including me on this ray--I plan to send it on to bookworm1954
