Written by Dave Eggers, author of "Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genuis" which happens to be one of my all time favorites. I'll read this soon as a friend gave it to me last week.

Though i loved his first book, this one fell far below my expectations. I had to make myself finish it, very disappointing.

Eggers's first novel (and second book), received in the mail from Atl. Highlands, New Jersey, USA, through the Always International Bookrelay. Read a review at Salon.com.
Sort of a Gen-X On the Road. There's an exclamation point at the end of the title, and once you read pp. 250-299 of this exactly 400-pg. book, you will understand why the cover reads, "NOTE: This paperback edition includes significant changes and additions," and why the frontmatter states "previously retitled as Sacrament." (I haven't yet read A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, as I've lent it to a friend.)

Though I was alternately admiring of and annoyed by A Heartbreaking Work...I have had this on my Wishlist for some time, so was very happy to receive this off a Reverse Wishlist Relay! Thanks for sharing..
I don't want to know your velocity! I don't even get your velocity, or anything else about this book. Does the big "reveal" by Hand not even exist in the hardbound version? Which would make this a completely different book!
There are smatterings of genius in this book and a few moments where I laughed right out loud, but I finally just had to quit.

Sending this on to the good students of Dana College near Omaha, NE who are starting an OBCZ as a school project. Good luck, you guys!
