This is the true story of the murder of Ann Marie Fahey, secratary to the governor of Delaware. The man accused of killing her, Thomas Capano, was a former state prosecutor, powerful attorney, and millionare businessman.
When I saw how many pages where in this book, over 600, I wondered if it was going to be a long boring read. While it was not jam packed with excitement, it was pretty interesting. It captured the thoughts and feelings of everyone involved very well. I found the story very interesting because of the personal detail involved. Even though the victim, Ann Marie, is dead her feeling and thoughts were still presented due to her diary and copies of her emails. Everytime I read one of these books, I find it hard to fathom that people can commit such horrible crimes.

Rec'd from a fellow BX'er (guinaveve)in trade. Going in my sizable "to be read" pile.
Update 3/8/2005 - Not my favorite Ann Rule book. There is so much detail to this story, and scenarios were repeated frequently due to court testimony and various points of view. The story really seemed to drag in my opinion. I am usually a fan of hers and was a little disappointed in this one.

A chilling story of a man who wanted it all and couldn't let go. Even with multiple adulturous affairs at one time, Tom Capano would not allow Anne Marie Fahey to pull away from his influence and control...even to the point of killing her. Even when caught in multiple lies and evasions, Tom Capano still manufactured stories that made him look good and everyone around him just out to get him.
