I read this book some years ago and LOVED it! I'm only now getting back to reading Hiaasen after a brief hiatus (okay, more than brief!) and want to share with with MisterNYC. I think he would really enjoy this. Unfortunately, I can't get the man to join BookCrossing -- and he's a librarian! I will read this when he's finished with it... Just hope I can keep the images of Demi Moore and Burt Reynolds out of my head!

Reading this again reminded me just how much I like Hiaasen, but this isn't one of my favourites. (That honour belongs jointly to "Tourist Season" and "Native Tongue" but "Double Whammy" gets an honourable mention as well!)

I found the book on a table at the Jewelry Arts Expo 2005, at the Ft. Washington Expo Center. The show is sponsored by Step by Step Beads and Lapidary Journal Magazines. I hope to find time to read this book soon!

Good summer beach book, fast paced and funny although violent. I did not see the movie so I read it with a clear vision!
