Originally I was thrilled with the idea of this book; the synopsis was right up my alley. BUT, the writing bogged down the story and it took me way too long to finish. The chapters bounce between present day, following Kate Morgan (private eye and spy), and 1593, following poet, playwright, and spy Christopher Marlowe. I was interested in Kate and her escapades although maany of her situations were silly but I found myself confused and (mostly) bored whenever the story flipped to 1593. The book has potential but don’t expect too much…
