This book was amazing. It was so detailed and had such a compelling narrative thread, it was hard to believe that it wasn't a novel. I got so wrapped up in this family and all their issues over the ten or so years that the book covers, which were sometimes so bad and still I'm sure the book couldn't even do it justice. I'm so glad greenfrom03 shared this with me, I can't wait to pass it on to someone else. Highly recommended.

This was one of the best books I've read in a long time. I can't imagine how the author managed to spend so much time with all the people and nonetheless produce such a journalistic, unbiased, non-judgemental book. I lent this to a co-worker but we've both changed jobs, so I'm putting it down as "travelling" since I doubt I'll see it again. (And I really wanted to re-read it... guess there's always the library!)
